Deck Construction in Palm Harbor

We had the opportunity to meet a fantastic couple in Palm Harbor that had a great project in mind. They wanted some more entertainment space outside their enclosed pool area. We talked about different ideas and settled on this perfect exterior deck that turned out great. We removed soil and grass from the area to get the deck just about on grade. The client specified a specific composite deck board that they wanted and we delivered. We used hidden fasteners on the deck for the finishing touch.

A Real Life Story: Why you should hire a professional licensed contractor

It amazes me how often in our profession we come across unscrupulous individuals who take advantage of elderly people. We met a client in Pasco county who had a dilemma; they had a work stoppage placed on a room addition that they were constructing on their home. I went and met with them and come to find out the 'contractor' they had hired to build the room addition was not what he said he was. First off, he never pulled a permit for the addition on the home which is what started this whole mess off in the first place. They had paid this gentleman $15,000.00 up front as a down payment on their new space. He started construction and had the walls framed, roof sheathed, windows and doors installed when the Pasco County inspectors found out about it. They immediately put a work stoppage on the project and told the homeowner that they needed to obtain engineering and submit for a permit. They eventually found out the gentleman they hired wasn't even licensed in the state of Florida (he actually lived out of state). The homeowner came across our name on the internet and wanted to meet and discuss. We came out and inspected the situation; it was not good. Nothing in this room addition was up to code. From window installation, to certain aspects of the framing including thin plywood used as roof sheathing, roof rafters that had dovetails cut too deep jeopardizing the strength of the wood, no footers being poured to support the walls, the list goes on and on. The person they hired obviously had no idea how a proper room addition in the state of Florida is supposed to be constructed. Either that or he was just attempting to build this project on the cheap. Even if we were to obtain proper engineering for this client, there was nothing about the current structure that had been built that we could have used. Unfortunately this client had to hire us to demolish this new room addition they had just paid to have constructed. We had to cut it up and put it in a dumpster and hall it away.

Condominium Renovation in Belleair Beach

In April of 2016, we met with a client in Belleair Beach that had just purchased a 3rd story condominium.  What they wanted to do for their remodel was a total redesign of the living space. We talked about different ideas. Went back and forth with different designs. Spoke with vendors at length to make sure we could provide exactly what our client wanted. And in the end, we presented a design that the client fell in love with. What was once a cramped and dark living space turned into a brilliant open floor plan design that our customer is sure to enjoy for years to come. Scroll to the bottom for before pictures.

Bathroom Remodel in New Port Richey

We had the opportunity to meet a wonderful client who had accessibility issues with their current bathtub/shower. They were unable at their advanced age to step over the existing 20" tall bathtub and requested a shower be installed instead. They had a limited budget so we were able to work with them to get exactly what they wanted for a reasonable price. Scroll down for before photos.

Bathroom Remodel in New Port Richey

When you are looking to renovate your bathroom, look no further than DCI Home Improvements. We were approached by a client with multiple projects on their wish list. The first of which was one of the guest bathrooms in their house. This room they wanted to totally renovate so we took their ideas and came back with designs that they really fell in love with.

Door Installation in Bathroom & Framed wall in Lanai in Spring Hill

We were approached by a client located in Spring Hill about some small projects they wanted done in the home. In particular, they wanted to add a bathroom door in their master bedroom where there never was one. In the 90's, builders around here decided it would be a great idea to separate the toilet and shower from the vanity area in bathrooms. Today, this just doesn't work too well and we are finding we are doing a lot of these conversions. We added a door to enclose the entirety of the bathroom to make it one room. Also, they had a six foot sliding glass door in the same master bedroom that they wanted to frame in. We removed the slider, framed and insulated, and finished with stucco. The client was having the home painted at a later date.

New Lanai Soffit in Trinity

This has been a very popular renovation we have done over the past couple of years. When your original drywall or plaster ceiling in your lanai area is starting to deteriorate and crack, a money saving idea is to install soffit material in its place. For this particular job, we used a wainscoting material that really refreshes the area. It gives it a more contemporary look and doesn't break the bank on budget.

Column Replacement in Tampa

We were approached by a client in Tampa that was wanting to update the front of their home just a little bit. After 25 years of weather, the original double 4 x 4 columns in the front of the home were starting to show their age. We removed the existing double columns and replaced them with larger single 6 x 6 rough sawn cedar posts. This gives a whole new look to the front of the home and we know it will last for years.

Bathroom Remodel in Land O Lakes

Another week, another beautiful bathroom. A few months back we met with an absolute amazing client that wanted to renovate her bathroom. It was about 10-15 years old and she wanted to design something a little more contemporary. This is what we came up with. The total design really works well together. We went with a wood style planking for the flooring and the shower walls. A nice neutral color river rock as the shower floor and the accent. The design also incorporated a fantastic wall niche and an amazing new custom glass shower door. Take a look at the pictures and let us know what you think. Scroll down for progress photos.
